Dear Valued Customer,

When Bulk SMS started, it was a cool way for organizations to send Branded SMS to clients. However, this tool as with most good things became the object of abuse. People started using it to send fraudulent messages like Bank alerts or notifications to unsuspecting mobile phone owners and in some cases succeeded in duping them. The Bulk SMS tool also became a spam generator for sending out unsolicited messages to phone owners even in the middle of the night! This nuisance gave rise to an NCC regulation - DND (Do Not Disturb) system. This meant that only users that subscribed to a certain type of SMS will get it.  Read More on DND

Today, the Bulk SMS market has strict regulations with the most stringent being the DND system. The ONLY way to get a Branded SMS to a DND subscriber is
1) Register your Brand name with the networks so it displays on your SMS.
2) Send ONLY transactional SMS (No promotional SMS allowed). So it’s either your informing the user of a transaction (bank alert), sending them an OTP (One Time Password), Login or Registration information etc. Any other kind of SMS will not be delivered (you will be charged).
Abuse of the transactional SMS system may cause the networks to revoke your Brand ID or mark it as spam.

Based on the above issues, we came up with SIM Hosting to deliver SMS to DND numbers. The drawback (if you want to call it that) is that the SMS comes from an actual automated SIM. Here is how it works.
OLD SYSTEM: You send SMS to 10 people. Let us assume 4 are on DND and the other 6 are not. This means that only the 6 will get your SMS as Branded. The other 4 will not get the SMS (you will be charged).
SIM HOSTING SYSTEM: You send SMS to 10 people as in the example above. The 6 will get your SMS as Branded. The other 4 will get the SMS as a regular GSM number like 08169615492. This way, the networks cannot block your message because it comes from a SIM. This ensures 100% delivery of all your SMS.

OUR SIM HOSTING PACKAGE
By default, all our DND sms is sent via our own Hosted SIM (We have several). However, you can setup YOUR own SIM card as a DND sms sender.
This means that a number can be tied to your organization or brand so your clients or sms recipients can associate the number with you. This way, they get all their sms from YOUR specific sim instead of from our random SIMs.

WHAT NEXT?
1) SIM Hosting is a subscription service. It costs just N45,000 / year (No extra or hidden costs).
2) Register a SIM (with the networks) that you wish to use as your DND delivery number or we can register one for you (We advice 9Mobile or MTN).
3) If you registered the sim yourself, you will have to mail or deliver the actual sim card to us for configuration.
4) Within 3 working days of payment, the setup will be done. After that, any SMS you send from your Greenspek SMS account, those for DND will be routed via your sim.
+ The SIM Hosting service is subsidized when compared to SMS Long Codes because we expect you to send Bulk SMS regularly to offset the cost difference. If you are NOT going to use the Bulk SMS service regularly, please go for our SMS LONG CODE.

MORE OPTIONS
+ All sms sent to your hosted sim are saved in an INBOX which you can access on your account (SIM HOST tab)
+ You can use your Hosted SIM for WhatsApp, Telegram etc (without the SIM in your device) because the activation code will be sent to your SIM hosting INBOX.
+ FREE API integration to push all SMS received by your hosted sim to another server.
+ If you want to setup a call forwarder on the sim, that is possible. However, have in mind that the networks charge for call forwarding at standard call rates.
